Avoid the Pitfalls of Oversizing Booster Systems and Drawdown Tanks.
November 11, 2020 @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm
One of the more difficult aspects of planning and designing plumbing systems is the sizing of booster packages. The sizing process for any mechanical system can be challenging, but the industry literature on booster sizing offers no universally accepted approach or standard; whilst literature on sizing hydropneumatics (expansion) tanks are often focused on closed-loop systems. Issues associated with under-sizing is well documented and felt almost immediately. But over-sizing presents its own set of issues, including excessive consumption of energy and water, pre-mature equipment wear, exacerbation of leaks, and contamination due to long term stagnation. Join us Wednesday, November 11 @ 1:30 PM for a crash course on how to right-size and select booster packages and drawdown tanks. This session will be of interest to design engineers, contractors, and building developers. PDH certificates are available on request.
