This week, Charli and Bethany discuss the different types of virtual learning.
Then Charli interviews Deveshoan (Dev) Michael, Sales and Service Manager NZ & Pacific Islands for John Crane.
Dev’s Bio:
I started my interest in engineering as a teenager working on cars and motorcycles. This led me to university where I did a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering and graduated with honours. My engineering career started as an intern for a small fire pump manufacturer in NZ called Pumpset Technology. While with the company I was able to prove myself and take on various responsibilities that eventually led me to have a permanent position as a Sales and Mechanical engineer coordinating the full project cycle from initial stakeholder meetings, designing, procurement, production and delivery. After 4 year with Pumpset I was ready for a new chapter and new challenges. The mechanical seal industry intrigued me and a timely opportunity as an Application and Design engineer with Eagleburgmann came along. I did a short run there where I work on a range of applications and learnt a tremendous amount. About a year later, I was approached with an exciting opportunity as the Sales and Service Manager for John Crane New Zealand. I took up the challenge and have not looked back since.
