General Rubber’s Plant Reliability and Efficiency Program (PREP) was developed to form a customer alliance that leverages our extensive knowledge and high performance replacement parts. The partnership begins with a full understanding of the program benefits including zero leakage, maximum expansion joint life as well as greater performance and reliability. We conduct a thorough site survey with the plant engineers, who then become trained regarding failure analysis, trouble shooting and dimensional verification. Spool type expansion joints can take a permanent lateral offset over the course of its life and replacing it with an offset joint can extend the life expectancy of the replacement joint considerably. The split wrap expansion joint was developed to replace wall penetration seals and sleeve type joints without removing the existing piping and equipment. PREP is an effective tool available to virtually any existing facility that will increase reliability and efficiency with significant economic benefits.
