Centrifugal Pumps are often employed in pumping processed aerobically digested sludge at Waste Water Treatment Plants. The problem is that hair and other stringy materials get caught in the Pump Impellers. The problem is that the pump performance substantially deteriorates as the impeller continues to clog. Eventually the performance will be reduced to a non-performance state if left unchecked. The clogged Impeller interrupts the treatment process and requires the operators to take the pump apart and clean it as often as a few times a day as was the case with this Customer.
