SUMMARY:Modeling and Mitigating Check Valve Slam - Theory and Applications
DESCRIPTION:Check valves are designed to protect equipment from sustained reverse flow\, but a closing check valve introduces a lurking risk of secondary surge. This webinar will outline considerations for check valve selection such as the type of check valve\, the system potential for reverse flow\, and the deceleration of the system’s fluid. \nAFT will take a look at a slam event using AFT Impulse’s built-in deceleration curves to find which valve will work best in their case. Can’t wait for you to check it out! \nWednesday\, March 1\, 2023 \n10:00 AM – 11:00 AM (MST) \nPresenter: Nick Vastine\, Business Applications Engineer II \nRegister Here

SUMMARY:Special Considerations for Valve Losses in Compressible Flow: Cv/Kv & xT
DESCRIPTION:When building models in AFT Arrow\, you may notice the Cv/Kv loss models in valves require extra input\, known as xT. This does not show up in valve models for incompressible flow\, which most people are more comfortable with. ANSI/ISA-75.01.01-2012 defines xT and special considerations for compressible flow\, and gives methods for control valve sizing. AFT has equations from that standard native in Arrow’s regular valves and control valves. \nJoin Applied Flow Technology for the webinar to walk away with understanding these various terms and how they apply in Arrow. They will also go through what to do when you may not have the appropriate data. \nPresenter: Walt Prentice\, Business Applications Engineer II \nWednesday\, March 15\, 2023 \n10:00 AM – 11:00 AM (MST) \nRegister Here
