Pump Person of the Week – Blake Grenlie

Empowering Pumps recently began inviting people to Nominate a Pump Professional, but today’s Pump Person of the Week is an industry professional we met at last week’s WEFTEC conference and exposition.

Meet Blake Grenlie, who works for the Village of Bartlett in the state of Illinois. Working with the municipal wastewater facility, Blake deals mostly with pumps and motors. When asked what he loves about his job, Blake responded with “It’s always there!”

He spends much of his time making sure the pumps and motors in the wastewater facility are operating to keep things moving. Grenlie, like many other operations and maintenance professionals working in the wastewater sector, spends some of his time clearing rags out of pumps.

His message to the public is to remind everyone not to flush wipes down the toilet! There are people on the other end (like Blake!) who have to keep those wastewater systems working.
