ABB, a global leader in technology, is enhancing the company’s world-renowned portfolio of irrigation drives solutions with the addition of two new drive packages. Both the ACQ580-0P+C192 and ACQ580-3P+C192 ultra low harmonic irrigation drive packages utilize ABB’s new Farmer First Irrigation-specific software, making commissioning and operation easier than ever.
“Irrigation is an industry that is vital to the future of energy conversation. Greater than a third of all water consumed in the United State is attributed to the irrigating of farms,” said Matthew Moose, ABB Product Marketing Manager- Irrigation. “We at ABB are proud to offer these innovative irrigation-specific solutions to help drive efficiencies and savings to the farmer.”
The ACQ580-3P ultra-low harmonic (ULH) irrigation drive package is an outdoor rated, UL (NEMA) Type 3R enclosed drive assembled to UL508A, designed to help your system comply with IEEE519. The ULH technology within this package produces the least amount of harmonic distortion, reducing stress on electrical equipment. This irrigation drive package provides unity power factor with a 3% or less total harmonic distortion (THiD). Because the drive does not require external filters, multi-pulse arrangements or special transformers, the simple installation offers significant savings and cost. ACQ580-3P drives are available in power ranges from 40-150 HP at 460V 3-phase.
The ACQ580-0P irrigation drive package is an outdoor rated, UL (NEMA) Type 3R enclosed drive designed and assembled to UL508A. ACQ580-OP drives are available in power ranges from 10-50 HP at 230V 1-phase, 25-100 HP at 208/230V 3-phase and 40-200 HP at 460V 3-phase. This new package will replace the current ACS580-0P+C192.
Designed for irrigation, these robust irrigation drive packages are Service Entrance rated for three phase four wire systems and have padlock disconnect and enclosure doors. They come equipped with built-in circuit breakers, reducing downtime and the need to carry fuses. The packages also include a thermostatically controlled heater to protect against condensation, a surge suppressor to defend against transient lightning strikes, and a totally enclosed control area to maintain a clean environment for the drive and low voltage control components.
