John Veness, general manager of ITT’s (NYSE:ITT) Goulds Pumps brand’s operations in the U.K., was presented the British Pump Manufacturers’ Association’s (BPMA) Lifetime Achievement Award for “significant and consistent contribution to the pump industry over the duration of his working career.” He was recognized at the organization’s annual gala, held at the Chesford Grange, Warwickshire, U.K.
Veness has spent his entire career in the pump industry, beginning as an engineer trainee at HMD Sealless Pumps and progressing to managing director of the organization, where he served for nearly 40 years. He later established his own energy consulting company before joining ITT in 2009.

In addition to his professional duties, Veness has served two terms as BPMA president and is currently a director of the organization and chairman of the Europump Marketing Commission. In presenting the award, the BPMA noted that he “has been extremely influential in the pump industry for nearly half a century.”
