Bell & Gossett, a Xylem brand, has introduced the industry’s first PC application tool designed for engineers that deal with coil cooling challenges.
Named the System Syzer – Psychrometry, it performs several critical calculations related to coil cooling and offers a variety of unique features, such as:
-
Cooling process graphed on chart and animated to show heat transfer direction
-
Calculates multiple psychometric characteristics based on two inputs
-
Calculates mass flow and cooling load (BTU)
-
Built-in temperature/humidity for 100 U.S. cities
-
Determines condensate rate of the coil
-
Real time outdoor air conditions with inclusion of weather site XML address
The System Syzer application is based on the iconic plastic wheel calculator designed by Bell & Gossett’s Gil Carlson. Widely recognized as the ‘Father of Modern Hydronics,” Carlson first introduced the System Syzer in 1963 and it has since been distributed to well over 100,000 engineers and tradesmen.
In order to run the System Syzer program, a personal computer must have a minimum 386 processor; 4 MB of RAM; about 1 MB of free disk space, and WindowsTM 3.1 or higher operating system.
The System Syzer application is free of charge and can be downloaded from the Bell & Gossett website at
