American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE) President Carol Johnson, CPD, LEED AP, CFI, FASPE, recently appointed Christoph Lohr, PE, CPD, LEED AP BD+C, ASSE 6020, as the new Liaison to the Board of Directors for ASPE Young Professionals (AYP). He replaces Blair Minyard, PE, CDT, CPD, who was elected as the Society’s Vice President, Education at the ASPE Business Meeting in Atlanta last month. In this role Christoph will act as a direct line of communication between AYP members and the Society’s Board of Directors to ensure that the professional needs of young plumbing designers are included in ASPE’s initiatives.
Christoph joined ASPE in 2011 and has served as the Phoenix Chapter’s Vice President, Legislative and VP Technical and as ASPE’s Region 4 AYP Liaison. He currently is a Plumbing Technical Leader/Lead Engineer at Henderson Engineers in Phoenix. He received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Virginia Military Institute, is a Professional Engineer licensed in Arizona, Nevada, and Florida, Certified in Plumbing Design (CPD), a certified ASSE 6020 Medical Gas Inspector, and a LEED Accredited Professional specializing in Building Design and Construction.
In addition to his roles within ASPE, Christoph is Co-Chair of the Piping Industry Progress and Education (PIPE) Medical Gas Committee, helping to facilitate improvements to the installation of medical gas systems. Christoph also was recently awarded the Kenneth G. Wentink Award of Excellence for his commitment, dedication, and inspired service toward the advancement of the ideals and goals of ASPE.
