Michael Mueller, Manager of Global Engineering Standards at Flowserve, was awarded “2018 Member of the Year” by the Hydraulic Institute at their annual conference on February 28th, 2019. Accepting this honor at the Vinoy Resort & Golf Club in St. Petersburg, Florida, Mueller graciously accepted the acknowledgement for his involvement in advancing the Hydraulic Institute’s technical output.
Mueller began his career as a reliability engineer and has spent more than two decades in roles progressing through quality, order engineering, and engineering standardization. He has held management positions and acted as a subject matter expert, showing exemplary leadership skills through the Hydraulic Institute as Chair for the Pumps Standard General Guidelines (versions 9.1 – 9.5), as well as the Co-Chair for the Nomenclature & Definition Standard for Rotodynamic Pumps (version 14.1 & 14.2). In addition, Mueller has acted as the Vice-Chair for the Rotodynamic Pump Efficiency Prediction Standard (20.3), the Electronic Data Exchange Guideline, and the General Standards Section.
