Submersible Vortex Offering Handles Largest Solids

Product by: BJM Pumps

BJM’s Model SV solids handling submersible pumps are equipped with vortex impellers which allow them to pass near port sized solids. It is undoubtedly the best non-clog design for the handling of raw sewage and wastewater containing solids or having high grit content. Industrial applications include pumping high viscosity liquids, trash sumps, wood chips and other difficult services. With the SV design, solids do not pass through the impeller. Rather, solids are moved by the vortex action formed in the pump casing by the impeller. The SV passes solids up to 90% of pump outlet diameter.

Standard cast iron construction stands up to rough handling and pumping gritty water. The 304SS motor housing provides both superior corrosion and abrasion resistance and will not prematurely wear out like competitive models with aluminum motor housings.

The SV motor is shielded from the pumping media by a three seal design. Double mechanical seals and a separate lip seal provide unexcelled protection. The lower seal faces are made of silicon carbide/silicon carbide and the upper seal faces are carbon/ceramic. An additional lip seal has been installed above the impeller, to help prevent abrasives such as grit, from entering into the seal chamber. Winding protection and (NEMA) Class F motor insulation allow motor temperatures to rise to 239°F, superior to pumps with Class A and B insulation. An automatic thermal switch turns the pump motor off if the temperature and/or amp draw rises too high. When the motor cools the switch will automatically reset and the pump will turn back on.

Longer power cables are provided, saving you the cost of materials and additional installation expenses such as time and labor. Depending on pump model either a 33 foot or 50 foot power cable is standard.

The Model SV is available in sizes from 2” – 4”, 1/3 to 10 horsepower, with flows to 726 GPM and heads to 48 feet.
