Capable of operating at pressure and capacity ranges normally situated at the far left of normal pumps’ operating curves, these pumps, which meet the 11th edition of the API 610 standard, were specifically developed to operate continuously at extremely low capacities and high head pressures, in operating ranges not covered by conventional (type OH2) HDR series pumps.
Manufactured in thirteen models, ten with a single stage HDRP (type OH2) and three with two stages HDRPD (type BB2), covering a capacity range up to 1.0m3/h with a pressure head of up to 320m for HDRP, and up to 20 m3/h and 620m for HDRPD. With better efficiency than conventional pumps, high operating stability and radial loads up to 85% lower.
In conventional pumps, such operating conditions are only attained by throttling the discharge and using costly bypass systems, which imply operating with an increase of mechanical vibrations, large shaft deflection with a reduction in the lifespan of the bearings and sealing systems, resulting in a higher frequency of MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), in addition to the increase of power consumed due to the low hydraulic efficiency achieved, an increase in the noise level, and NPSH problems.
Highly reliable and with low NPSHR values, they are suitable for operation with low boiling point volatile and organic hydrocarbons, and being used more and more by refineries and petrochemical industries in applications and services for which conventional pumps would not satisfy all the safety and operating tranquility requirements.
An open impeller with a special star configuration, centerline housing, sealing box according to API-682, accepting any mechanical seal type or assembly, metallurgy according to the process requirements, optional water cooling at the bearings support, very low shaft L3/D4, optional oil mist lubrication, and many other options are offered by this pump manufactured by OMEL, which has been supplying the industry for 60 years with high quality and high reliability equipment.
