The Hydraulic Institute and Pump Systems Matter announce the kick-off a new webinar series on Electronic Data Exchange for the Pump Industry. Session 1: Getting Started with HI Electronic Data Exchange will take place on January 15, 2013 and Session 2: Demonstrating how Electronic Data Exchange Works will take place on January 22, 2013. The Hydraulic Institute developed HI 50.7—2010,“Standard for Electronic Data Exchange for Pumping Equipment.”This standard builds upon the FIATECH project known as the Automating Equipment Information Exchange (AEX) and is one of the components you must have to improve interoperability when bidding, quoting, and purchasing pumping equipment for capital facilities

Session 1 will cover justifications for implementing HI-EDE, the scope and purpose of the HI-EDE 50.7 standard, how data is exchanged using HI-EDE, benefits of implementing HI-EDE in your organization, and steps to take to implement HI-EDE.

Session 2 will cover the type of data used to define the HI-EDE 50.7 Standard, describe EDE compliance levels, and explain how EDE was successfully tested for software capabilities. The webinar will also cover XML, data transfer, and pump process design.
