The pump industry is an amazing mix of people from different backgrounds with a range of skill sets and specialties in so many different areas of pumping systems. This week, Empowering Pumps has chosen a member of the Hydraulic Institute and ASHRAE as their “Pump Person of the Week”.
Jack Kang, who has worked as an instructor for the Bell & Gossett Little Red Schoolhouse, is an engineer with a passion for teaching, both in a professional and volunteer capacity. Kang is currently the product line manager for circulators and centrifugal pumps at Xylem, Applied Water Systems.
When we asked Jack what it is about the pump industry that excites him the most, this was his response:
“As an engineer, the best feeling is being able to solve problems for customers, especially problems that require technically advanced solutions. I am looking forward to taking a leadership role on behalf of B&G and the pump industry as the Department of Energy begins the process of issuing a rule on energy conservation standards for residential, commercial, and light industrial heating and cooling circulator applications.”
It’s great to see people in the pump industry getting involved outside of their day-to-day jobs, as this will have a real impact for the future of our industry.
