The Importance of Training Combined with Certification In the Diverse Pump Workforce

Author: Mark Sullivan

Pump training combined with certification presents a prime opportunity to expand the measurement of knowledge of employees.  As off-site training with certification can be expensive, many corporations cannot afford to train employees outside the office.  The use of an online platform with integrated testing is growing within education, providing both the employer and staff with the convenience of learning from laptops that saves time while eliminating the cost of travel and other expenses.

Addressing Pump Knowledge Weaknesses

Most employees working with any pumping system have some weakness in their knowledge, – whether its pump components, pump types, pump selection/applications, pump size/design or pump systems – and need to improve their skillsets.  A comprehensive educational program combined with knowledge assessment through a quiz or test provides the best learning result.

Why it is Important for Pump End-Users to Become a Life-Long Learner

The increased use of software, wireless condition monitoring, flow modeling, and cloud-based systems in the pump industry is changing job skill requirements.  A learning experience combined with certification helps employees stay competitive in their position.  A strong human capital is the greatest asset for any business, organization or municipality.  Technical training combined with knowledge measurement in a certification program offers pump end-users the opportunity to upgrade their skills continually.

How Valuable Training Combined with Certification Can Boost Retention and Morale

Research shows that companies and organizations that support training with certification improve productivity, enhance staff morale, and increase retention.  Pump end-users view training as a vehicle to increase career opportunities.  On the other hand, businesses and organizations that do not train and develop employees are at risk of losing their competitive edge.  Companies must offer training with a certification to employees to keeping their workforce current with the new demands of the market.

What Is the Greatest Organizational Need Today?

The greatest requirement of the current workforce is developing skills of personal accountability as it is the foundation for all successful endeavors. Many people want and need pump and systems training as well as a measurement of knowledge within a certificate program.

Massive shifts in U.S. employment have created a high demand for more engineers, maintenance and operational professionals in the pump industries.  By participating in technical training programs that offer a certification, pump end-users gain the expertise and credentials to successfully lead any organization.  They also gain the personal skills critical to maintaining productive careers in this rapidly changing pump industry.
