Sulzer has announced its attendance at Asia Turbomachinery & Pump Symposium (ATPS) 2022, showcasing its market-leading engineering services and technical courses. ATPS takes place from May 23 – 26 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in Malaysia, with Sulzer experts available on Booth 702 to discuss how its network of service centers can improve the availability and performance of critical rotating equipment.
Held biennially, ATPS combines a world-class educational forum with an international exhibition focusing on engineering advancements in turbomachinery and pumps. As well as being a leading global pump original equipment manufacturer (OEM), Sulzer is a worldwide independent service provider (ISP) for rotating equipment from all brands – offering around-the-clock engineering services designed to enhance asset reliability and efficiency.
During the exhibition, Sulzer is focusing on its turbo and pump services, which are delivered from a global network of localized service centers, with 16 in the Asia Pacific region. This ensures a fast response to any customer requirement, maximizing equipment uptime and safeguarding profitability. In-house repair and upgrade capabilities are further supported by dedicated field engineering teams with decades of application experience.
Boosting pump knowledge
At the pre-event Short Course Day, the Sulzer Academy will be welcoming attendees to its acclaimed one-day training course: Pump Mechanical & Hydraulic Fundamentals. An ideal introduction or refresher for engineers, the course covers subjects such as pump hydraulic fundamentals, operating principles, system design and cavitation prevention. The session will be conducted on May 23 by Nick Ahrens, Sulzer’s Senior Technical Trainer, a chartered mechanical engineer with over 30 years of mechanical engineering experience. Sharing some of his expert knowledge, Nick will provide valuable insight on the features and unique performance characteristics of a pump, and how to ensure they are operated in a safe, cost effective and mechanically reliable manner.
Reducing carbon footprint
With regards to pump services, Sulzer will highlight its ability to improve the energy efficiency of pump equipment – which reduces carbon footprint. With a carbon tax soon to be implemented in Malaysia and other Southeast Asian nations following suit as well, Sulzer’s pump retrofits and upgrades offer a proven, cost-effective route to improved efficiency and reduced carbon emissions. Attendees can view a 3D printed pump model on stand that allows easy visualization of these retrofit technologies and their benefits.
To further optimize performance, visitors can learn about BLUE BOX™, Sulzer’s smart digital technology platform that aggregates advanced pump analytics, delivering actionable efficiency and maintenance insights to operators.
Technologically advanced turbo services
Sulzer also provides turnkey services for turbines of any brand. Thanks to a large in-house servicing capacity and best-in-class engineering capabilities, customers can benefit from fast turnarounds on projects of almost any size. Turbine inspections, repairs, upgrades, advanced reverse engineering, blade manufacture and testing are all available from a single source – delivering quality and expediting projects. These capabilities, especially reverse engineering, ensure that Sulzer is adept at improving the performance and service life of turbomachinery that is no longer supported by the OEM. This proficiency is illustrated by the fact that Sulzer has delivered over 2’000 successful turbomachinery overhaul projects in Asia.
Get involved
Visitors to the Sulzer stand can also take part in two giveaways. By simply leaving a business card and filling in a short form, attendees will be entered into a competition to win either a seat on the virtual Sulzer Academy Pump Mechanical & Hydraulic Fundamentals training course or a pump health check package.
Asia Turbomachinery & Pump Symposium (ATPS) 2022 takes place from May 23 – 26 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in Malaysia. Attendees will be able to take part in Pump Fundamentals (Mechanical & Hydraulic) training on May 23, with Sulzer available on Booth 702 at the exhibition from May 24.
