Innovation and industry expertise for the power generation and water sectors
This year POWER-GEN Africa is co-located with African Utility Week and being hosted by Cape Town, South Africa, where leading authorities in the world of power generation and water will meet for a series of conferences and exhibitions. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet experts from Sulzer, a leading repair specialist and pump manufacturer that offers innovative solutions and specialist services for gas turbines, pumping systems, generators and other rotating equipment.
From May 14 – 16, the Cape Town International Convention Center (CTICC) will be home for Sulzer’s engineering experts who will be on Stand E8 to discuss products and services relating to the power generation sector.
Sulzer is a turnkey service provider for pumps and rotating equipment. Its parts manufacturing centers and global network of service centers can provide high quality components quickly to deliver maintenance or overhaul requirements. Supporting the F-class gas turbine market, including the GE, Siemens and Alstom fleets, Sulzer has experienced personnel dedicated to the support of these vital assets. This includes the in-house manufacture of turbine and compressor blades to the highest specification as well as additive manufacturing for reverse-engineered, precision parts.
For generators, motors, pumps and other rotating equipment, Sulzer’s dedicated field service teams can provide local, expert maintenance, rewinds, retrofits and pump services for existing assets. With almost 100 purpose-built facilities throughout the world, including Johannesburg, Sulzer’s expertise is never far away. Every service center has access to state-of-the-art facilities including precision coil manufacturing and high-speed balancing resources.
Sulzer also has a comprehensive range of pumps, specifically designed to handle the challenges of the power generation and water sectors. Often purpose-built and always optimized for efficiency, Sulzer’s knowledge and expertise in pump manufacturing goes back many generations and can also be used to retrofit existing assets and enhance performance.
For large-scale pumping systems, Sulzer has developed an advanced analytics system, known as BLUE BOX™, which is designed to provide near real-time analysis of performance and reliability. This system can identify the most opportune moment for pump repairs and minimize expenditure on energy, the largest cost associated with pumping applications.
Visitors to the conference can discover more about Sulzer’s comprehensive range of products and services to the power generation sector using touchscreen displays on stand E8. Using an interactive power landscape, it is possible to explore applications throughout the sector that can be optimized, repaired, remanufactured and generally improved using Sulzer’s expertise.
There is nothing worse than running out of phone battery when at a trade show, which is why Sulzer is offering phone charging points to visitors throughout the event. Everyone is welcome to utilize one of the many charge points present on the stand at any time.
