The Person of the Year award honors industry leaders with outstanding achievements and contributions to VMA and the valve industry. Nahorski has served on the VMA Board of Directors for six years, and as its Chairman in 2018. He has also served on the Nominating Committee and Presidential Search Committee. He has provided invaluable guidance and leadership to the organization for many years.

“It is my humble honor to be selected as this year’s VMA’s Person of the Year. VMA is successful due to hard work and dedication of its staff and members. I never thought that this achievement was within my reach, as I simply participated in doing what I love, while trying to make a difference in this great organization,” says Mark Nahorski, President, IMI PBM.

Szpak has served on the Market Trends Committee for 10 years and as its Chair for the past three years. He embodies strong volunteer values that benefit the membership and valve industry, and is known for dependably honoring his commitments.

“VMA’s success depends upon individuals like Mark and Steve who contribute their leadership, time, and expertise to the industry,” says Heather Rhoderick, president of VMA.

Founded in 1938, the Valve Manufacturers Association of America is a trade association that represents the interests of over 130 North American manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors of valves, actuators, and controls. Collectively, members account for approximately 80% of the total industrial valve shipments out of U.S. facilities. VMA is headquartered in Washington, DC.
