Al Iseppon of Pentair Water Receives Honor from Hydraulic Institute

The Hydraulic Institute has named Al Iseppon, Senior New Product Engineer, Pentair Water as its 2011 “Member of the Year.”  The award was conferred on Mr. Iseppon at the Hydraulic Institute’s 95th Annual Meeting gala which recently took place in St. Petersburg, Florida.

The HI Board of Directors selected Mr. Iseppon for distinguishing himself by the level and intensity of his involvement with the Hydraulic Institute and for advancing the technical work of the Hydraulic Institute.

Al Iseppon has been an active participant in HI for over 20 years.  He has been instrumental in shaping the direction of future standards work within HI and has been a leader and contributor on many standards and guideline writing committees. His management and leadership skills were especially evident in 2006 when he was elected Vice Chair of the Standards Committee. He helped streamline the standards development process, reduce time to publication, and eliminate the bottlenecks associated with compliance to the ANSI 5-year reaffirmation process.  This level of engagement and forward thinking sets him apart.

Mr. Iseppon became Chairman of the HI Standards Committee in 2010.  He has given countless volunteer hours, not only in this role, but as a member of the Technical Affairs Steering Committee, as Chair of the Rotodynamic (centrifugal) Pump Test Committee, as well as Rotodynamic (centrifugal) Design and Applications (1.3) subcommittee, and co-chair of the Rotodynamic (vertical) Design and Applications (2.3) subcommittee.  He has accepted responsibility for leading the overhaul and integration of HI’s hallmark centrifugal and vertical pump standards as well.

Gregg Romanyshyn, HI Technical Director, stated that, “Al has been a major contributor to HI in terms of his development work on standards and guidelines and his participation on the committees that provide oversight and direction for HI Technical Affairs.  He serves on numerous committees and contributes wherever possible.  He is an excellent role model for the Future Engineering Leaders and is highly respected by HI members as well as HI staff.”
