First Variable Speed Drives Webinar Series of 2014

The Hydraulic Institute (HI) and Pump Systems Matter (PSM) have announced the dates of the upcomingVariable Speed Drives 4-part webinar series. The opening session will be held January 9, 2014 at 1:00pm EST. Larry Stanley, Regional Applications Engineer, ABB, Inc. and Kevin Fedor, Variable Frequency Drives Sales Manager, Schneider Electric – Square D. will lead the series. Participants who complete the full series earn 4 Professional Development Hour (PDH) credits directly from HI.

Webinar participants will learn how to significantly improve pump systems reliability when using Variable Speed Drives (VSDs). The series will explain how VSDs may be used to accommodate duty cycles with variable flow and head as well as applications to avoid. Energy optimization, life cycle reduction, single-phase to three-phase power conversion, and inrush current reduction will be discussed in the series.

The following is a schedule for the Variable Speed Drives 4-part webinar series:

Session 1 – Intro 101, January 9, 2014, 1:00-2:00pm EST

Session 2 – Application & Installation Considerations, January 16, 2014, 1:00-2:00pm EST

Session 3 – Protection for VFD & Proper Output, January 23, 2014, 1:00-2:00pm EST

Session 4 – Troubleshooting Problems with VFDs, January 30, 2014, 1:00-2:00pm EST

Advance registration is required and HI members and standards partners receive a 25% discount off the regular registration fee for the series.
