Maximizing Long Term Reliability through Commissioning

By: JKMuir

The selection and sizing of equipment is the first step to dependable and well-running facilities, but long term, reliable operation depends on the effective performance testing and commissioning of equipment. This final phase of construction projects impacts asset management, operational performance, contractor and manufacturer guarantees and warranties, accurate program automation, maintenance requirements, and operator knowledge through training programs. What is Commissioning? This presentation will include strategies for the implementation of commissioning activities during the design phase to ensure responsibility, appropriate scheduling, and performance testing during construction. As well as the control aspects of a commissioning program that ensures adequate testing and training activities during construction for successful long-term performance, operation, and asset management.
