Modular Design of New Almatec ® CXM Series AODD Pumps Results in Flexible Choice of Product Connections

Almatec®, part of PSG®, a Dover company and premier manufacturer of sanitary air-operated double-diaphragm (AODD) pumps, is pleased to announce the availability of the new CXM Series AODD Pump, which replaces the predecessor pump series CX and CXR. The new CXM Series pump was debuted at the recently held ACHEMA Show in Frankfurt, Germany.

CXM Series pumps are available with seven different product connections – four sizes with NPT connections and three sizes with BSP connections – thanks to the pump’s modular design. The NPT pump sizes 10, 20, 50 and 130 are interchangeable with the CX and CXR Series. The product connections of the BSP pumps sizes 25, 55 and 135 are located on the face side of the pump. This wide range of product connections allows a precise adjustment of the pump to the specific application. All CXM pumps can easily be converted from ball to cylinder valves, and vice versa. Incorporating cylinder valves is ideal for transfer applications requiring superior suction lift for clear liquids.

Another benefit of the CXM pump’s construction are housing parts that are attached with housing bolts that are tightened against a diaphragm-sized ring located on each side of the pump. This method of construction allows the pump to transmit the forces of the housing bolts onto the housing parts evenly. This consistent flow of pumping forces and an ability to supply increased bolt torque result in an increase in the CXM pump’s operational safety, ensures high performance and gentle pumping.

The CXM pumps feature Almatec’s unique PERSWING P® air-control system which has no dead spots and does not need maintenance or lubrication. The CXM pumps are also self-priming and dry-run capable, with suction-lift capabilities that allow containers to be emptied to the very last drop, even without supervision. The CXM’s housing is made from solid-block PE conductive for good chemical resistance. Their design and construction also allows the CXM pumps to be operated in potentially explosive atmospheres and with flammable liquids, per ATEX-compliance standards.
