NETZSCH announces NEMO® progressing cavity pumps for pet food applications

By: Netzsch

NETZSCH Pumps North America announces that the company’s NEMO® progressing cavity pumps are ideal for pet food applications, especially transferring meat and gravy emulsions from a cooking station to the mixer, and from the mixer to the filling and packaging station. The NEMO progressing cavity pump also improves emulsion consistency due to its gentle shear characteristics.

Unlike rotary lobe pumps, progressing cavity pumps can handle greater pressures, a wide range of viscosities, and the variability of slurries and emulsions pet food manufacturers require. In addition, progressing cavity pump performance is not affected by the variations and changes that occur during production and cleaning processes. Progressing cavity pumps also offer a positive sealing effect between the rotor and stator, creating distinct cavities, which permits the handling of higher pressure per stage than rotary lobe pumps.
