Pump Person of the Week – Mike “Griff” Griffith

There are so many talented and interesting people working in the pump industry that Empowering Pumps is making an effort to shine a spotlight on individuals who spend their time and energy making valuable contributions within the Pumping Industry.

This week, we talked to a VP of Operations for Knighten Industries, a full service pump distributor that also provides parts and aftermarket service throughout the state of Texas.

Mike Griffith, who is known by his customers as “Griff”, spends much of his day ‘fighting fires’ and sizing new units for end users in the oil & gas, industrial, and municipal markets. This is what he had to say…

My favorite part of the job is solving customers problems! But more than that, I love the building process where you start a company with little or nothing. You build it one success story at a time. I’m most proud of our staff and the customer service they offer our customers. I love the pump business because it’s a close knit business. I love working with vendors and customers and the relationships you build with both. Integrity is the key. You have to be a great vendor and a great customer. It’s hard work!!!!”

Griff, thanks for all your hard work! It was a pleasure hearing from you and we appreciate your support to all the pump owners and operators in the Lone Star State!

Know an Amazing Person who is making valuable contributions within the Pump Industry? Nominate them to be “Pump Person of the Week”!

One response to “Pump Person of the Week – Mike “Griff” Griffith”

  1. Everyone can see that Mike Griffith is doing a job of exceptional importance! It is very important to have not only a supplier of new pumps, but also experienced people who are able to set them up and fix them in time. Otherwise, the pumps will turn into disposable and expensive toys. If the service is organized correctly, the pumps can remain in operation even for 30 and 40 years! We wish Mike Griffith much success and good luck and congratulate him on the upcoming Christmas!
