Registration Opens for Valve and Pump Industries’ Annual Market Insight Event

Hydraulic Institute (HI) has announced that registration is now open for the 2012 Market Outlook Workshop via the HI website, www.Pumps.org/12MarketOutlook. The annual event, organized by the Valve Manufacturers Association, will take place in Chicago on August 9 – 10, and provide attendees with current and specific market insights on both the valve and pump industries.  Prior to the event, on August 8, HI will host the HI Market Intelligence Committee meeting and dinner for pump industry analysts associated with HI member companies.

The two-day Workshop will be held at the Renaissance Blackstone and feature presentations from industry and economic leaders on trends in a number of diverse marketplaces and economies.

Expert presenters will focus on specific market sectors; they include: “Water/Wastewater” – Tom Decker, Vice President, Brown & Caldwell; Power – Kevin Geraghty, VP, Power Generation, NV Energy; “Oil & Gas” – John Spears, President, Spears & Associates; “Nuclear” –  Matt Dryden, VP Marketing, North America, AREVA, Inc.; “Petrochemical” – Mark Eramo, Executive Vice President, IHS Global Insight; “Shale Gas” – Stuart Kemp, Assistant General Counsel, Halliburton; and “Hydrocarbon Processing” – Mark Peters, Group Publisher, Offshore Magazine.

Workshop highlights also include a “Wall Street Perspective” presentation by Michael Halloran, Senior Research Analyst & VP, Robert W. Baird & Company; an “International Economic Outlook” by Mark Witte, Director of Undergraduate Studies in Economics, Northwestern University; and a special market feature on “Brazil” by Chris Garman, Director, Latin America, Eurasia Group. There will also be a session on “Managing Millennials” by Steven Jacobs, Human Capital, Deloitte. As in prior years, the popular economist, Alan Beaulieu of the Institute for Trend Research will discuss “Domestic Economic Outlook.
