Customized Equipment Refurbishment

Whether you need a complete equipment refurbishment package or just a few simple upgrades, Dallas/Fort Worth-based RWN Pump & Fabrication can get your oldest equipment and your most worn-out equipment running like new and looking like new.

RWN has two complete refurbishment packages to make it easier for the customer. However, with a full menu of services, an expert RWN professional can also offer a customized “a la carte” package to suit your needs.

The A-Level Refurbishment package is the premier choice for end users who want equipment that looks and operates like new for about half the price of brand-new equipment.  It includes:

  • Engine – Rebuilt engine, wiring harness checked*, install new starter and alternator, install new battery and cables, install new belts, cooling package cleaned, cooling package checked*, control panel checked*, and
    reset hour meter.
  • Pump – Bearing housing fit checked*, install new shaft and bearings, install new lip seals, install new gaskets, install new mechanical seal, impeller checked*, volute checked*, install volute drain valve/piping, seal plate checked*, suction cover checked*, install new wear ring, priming spool basket/baffles (checked/cleaned), install new priming linkage, priming spool lid checked*, rebuild vacuum pump (install service valve), install new vacuum pump belt, install new vacuum pump hose, install new priming ball valve, install new gauges (vacuum and pressure), check valve checked*, and install new flapper.
  • Coupling – Install new element, and check drive ring.
  • Skid/Trailer — Replace fuel level gauge, replace wheel bearings (trailer mounted units), check tires (trailer mounted units)*, replace safety chains (trailer mounted units), check lights (if installed), and replace jack stands (trailer mounted units).
  • Paint Unit Operational Test Adders (if required) – Volute, suction cover, seal plate, suction spool/chamber, any parts designated with an “*”, and repairs to existing skid/trailer.

Because RWN is committed to making sure the customer gets exactly what they need—nothing more, nothing less—qualified experts can work with you to create your own customized refurbishment package.

You can choose a standard refurbishment in which the tires, fluids, and belts are replaced, and the unit is sandblasted and painted to look brand new.

“It’s always the customer’s decision on how much they want refurbished,” says Kyle Johnstone, RWN Executive VP. “With all refurbishments, we make sure the equipment runs smoothly. The top-tier package gets the unit back to new, while the standard package gets it back to looking like new. With both, they will be in great running condition.”

The Standard Level Refurbishment package includes:

  • Engine – Engine checked/run*, wiring harness checked*, cooling package checked*, and control panel checked*.
  • Pump – Bearing housing fit checked*, install new shaft and bearings, install new lip seals, install new gaskets, install new mechanical seal, impeller checked*, volute checked*, install volute drain valve/piping, seal plate checked*, suction cover checked*, install new wear ring, priming spool basket/baffles (checked/cleaned), install new priming linkage, priming spool lid checked*, rebuild vacuum pump (install service valve), install new vacuum pump belt, install new vacuum pump hose, install new priming ball valve, install new gauges (vacuum and pressure), check valve checked*, and install new flapper.
  • Coupling – Install new element, and check drive ring.
  • Skid/Trailer — Replace fuel level gauge, replace wheel bearings (trailer mounted units), check tires (trailer mounted units)*, replace safety chains (trailer mounted units), check lights (if installed), and replace jack stands
    (trailer mounted units).
  • Paint Unit Operational Test Adders (if required) – Volute, suction cover, seal plate, suction spool/chamber, any parts designated with an “*”, and repairs to existing skid/trailer.

One of the main differences in the two packages is that the premier package provides a brand-new engine, while the standard package services the existing engine to get it back to peak operating condition.

“We work closely with the customer and can make expert recommendations,” Johnstone says. “We can customize the refurbishment program to make sure your equipment gets exactly what it needs.”
