W. L. Gore & Associates Launches New Peristaltic Pump Tubing

Building upon the proven technology of GORE® STA-PURE® Pump Tubing, W. L. Gore & Associates has introduced GORE® High-Resilience Tubing Style 400.  Availability of this tube opens up the attractive peristaltic pump option for applications that were previously limited due to the lack of an affordable, long-lasting, chemically resistant tube with good mechanical durability.

GORE® High-Resilience Tubing Style 400 features a composite of VITON® fluoroelastomer with Gore’s unique reinforcement technology.

VITON® elastomer has exceptional resistance to a broad range of chemistries, including aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, alcohols, nearly all inorganic acids at any concentration and steam.  However, VITON® elastomer has one Achilles’ heel – it has poor mechanical durability in continuous flex applications such as peristaltic pump tubing.

Style 400 tubing combines the broad chemical compatibility of VITON® elastomer with the strong mechanical durability of Gore’s reinforcement technology. This enables the tube to last more than 50 times longer than standard VITON® peristaltic pump tubing, while maintaining a consistent flow rate for thousands of hours. The tubing is designed for use in high pressure, solvent-based dosing applications.

“Its durability is unsurpassed,” says Gore product specialist Gopalan Balaji. “It boasts an exceptionally long pumping life and enables continuous high pressure pumping. This translates to reduced maintenance, increased productivity and significant cost savings.”

The reinforcement technology featured in the GORE® High-Resilience Tubing Style 400 provides superior burst resistance compared to conventional non-reinforced extruded tubing. The tubing can operate at burst pressures in excess of 300 psi, continuous operating pressures up to 60 psi and intermittent pressures of up to 100 psi. That means far less worry about the environmental hazards and safety risks associated with unexpected tube ruptures in high-pressure chemical dosing operations.

With its consistent flow rates, broad chemical compatibility and long lifespan, GORE® High-Resilience Tubing Style 400 enables the use of high performance peristaltic pumps for a wide range of applications in a variety of industries, including laundry and industrial cleaning, water and wastewater treatment, printing and specialty chemicals.
