WWETT SHOW 2019: NOWRA Brings The National Backhoe ROE-D-HOE® Competition To WWETT Live! Sponsored By Salcor Inc. UV Disinfection

WWETT Show 2019 announces the winner of the NOWRA National Backhoe ROE-D-HOE® Competition.

LUCAS OIL STADIUM, HOME OF THE INDIANAPOLIS COLTS, housed WWETT Live! and the NOWRA – National Onsite Wastewater Recycling Association National Backhoe Roe-D-Hoe® Championship Competition! Several years ago, Backhoe Roe-D-Hoe® was involved in the WWETT Show and there was so much interest and participation WWETT SHOW 2019 decided to bring it back for this year’s show.

THE ROE-D-HOE COMPETITION was a two-day open event where 150 attendees who are skilled backhoe operators competed by using the backhoe shovel to skillfully and smoothly move small objects such as a golf ball or bowling pin in an extreme race against time. Tom Fritts of Residential Sewage Treatment Company (RSTC) served as the emcee and Jessi Wood of RSTC coordinated the event on behalf of NOWRA with Informa. Jessi Wood, who also served as scorekeeper, said “Each year I’ve been involved with the Roe-D-Hoe® I have been impressed with the skill and expertise of the backhoe operators as they navigate through each of the skill exercises. It also makes for close finishes. The top six finishers were only a few seconds apart in their scores, and the next half dozen were just a few seconds behind.”

TOP THREE FINISHERS each earned prize money $1,000 for 1st, $300 for 2nd, $100 for 3rd

1st Place: John Moore with A & J Services out of Zanesville, OH.

2nd Place: Paul Willis with White Wolf out of Washington, MA

3rd Place: Albert Breech with Breech’s Septic and Excavating out of Lucasville, OH.

ROE-D-HOE 1ST PLACE WINNER John Moore from Zanesville, Ohio was this year’s 1st Place Winner! This was no easy task considering that Moore not only competed against the competitors who participated in the competition at WWETT Show 2019, but also champions from state ROE-D-HOE® competitions held around the country. Moore was presented with a $1,000 cash prize and the Championship Belt to wear for the day! When asked “what are you doing that makes you stand out among your peers.” John replied “I have been operating since I was a child, so that may help. My grandfather started a company when I was 8 years old, so I have been operating equipment since that time. I am 37 now so that is roughly 30 years. I grew up with it.”
