Danfoss introduces the Multi Ejector SolutionTM

Danfoss today introduced its new Multi Ejector Solution™ — helping CO2 to become a major asset for the cooling industry. As a refrigerant, CO2 has the lowest possible Global Warming Potential (GWP) with a rating of “1,” causes zero ozone depletion, and is non-toxic and non-flammable. This means that both buildings and products can be cooled safely without negatively affecting climate. It is also exceptionally versatile and can be used in many different cooling applications, including commercial, industrial, and transport applications.

When paired with the technology in the Danfoss Multi Ejector Solution™, CO2 refrigeration systems can outperform traditional HFC systems in terms of energy efficiency in all climate zones, while reducing the environmental impact.

The use of CO2 as a refrigerant was previously limited to cooler regions, or required the use of complex, expensive systems. With the Danfoss Multi Ejector Solution™, CO2 can now become a truly global solution. Now even the world’s hottest regions — like the Middle East, South and Latin America, Australia, and Asia — can enjoy all the benefits that CO2 offers. This includes valuable energy saving potential — up to 18 percent annually compared with CO2 booster system.

“CO2 has a bright future as a refrigerant in our industry. It is natural and environmentally benign, with virtually no direct climate impact when used as a refrigerant,” said Hans Ole Matthiesen, director of segment marketing – food retail, Danfoss. “The Danfoss Multi Ejector Solution™ makes it easy to gain all the benefits of using CO2. It makes it possible to save energy in all climates, reduce refrigeration platform complexity, and, not least, reduce the carbon footprint of the system.”

The Danfoss Multi Ejector Solution™ unites two products — a Multi Ejector and Danfoss’ AK-PC 782A Rack Controller — into one best-in-class solution that enables the broad deployment of transcritical CO2 refrigeration systems.

To learn more about the Multi Ejector Solution™, Danfoss customers, business partners, and the industry in general can take advantage of two learning opportunities. The Danfoss Mobile CO2 Training Unit is on a world tour, providing in-depth training and certification to industry professionals. Danfoss also offers free online classes about CO2 theory, use, and safety on its digital education portal, Danfoss Learning.
